Has anyone grown edamame beans in the UK?

Novice gardener would like to try. Any tips or recommendations welcomed.

Saw them being grown at the Alternative Energy Centre near Machynthlleth back in the late 1970s, when the vegetable beds still resembled slate chippings. If I had more space I’d willingly give them a chance here in Yorkshire so worth a go if you’re further south. But maybe be prepared for them to be less robust than runners or french

Have grown and cropped them both inside and outside of greenhouse, outside ones only really take off if we have a hot summer and everything loves to dig up and eat the beans so it's worth establishing them well before planting out or protecting them really well if planting direct. Otherwise really easy to grow but like I say somewhat dependent on a good summer.
