Plants for a cool porch

I have a newly painted porch with some shelves that are calling out for some plants. These will be between outer storm door and inner, and it’s an old house so quite cold and draughty space - Scotland so temps will get quite low in there during the winter, and in better weather the storm door is usually open.

So looking for suggestions of plants that can tolerate cold and also varying light. There is a window so it’s fairly light in there but less so when storm door shut.

I wondered about planting up some spring bulbs in a pot as one - will they work in a semi indoor scenario like that? Squirrels tend to nab them in the rest of the garden so this seems like an opportunity to keep them safe.

Will it ever get below freezing in there? If not, then maybe some succulents, like jade plant or houseleeks.

Christmas cacti, if it doesn’t freeze.

Daffodils are ok in shade,so worth trying, ditto snowdrops. Crocus open with heat rather than sun, so give them a try too. Lily of the valley.
