Best time to pot up tulip bulbs?

I impulse bought some cheap tulip bulbs in Lidl. I want to take them to my brother’s house and plant them there in pots ( he’s had a very tough time lately involving being sectioned and then diagnosed with cancer just as he was leaving mental health rehab). Anyway I want to make sure they actually grow and bloom as he is finding his garden very therapeutic but is a very hit and miss gardener. Thanks for any tips!

Do they not say on the packet? I usually do mine too late and get a poor showing 🙈 very thoughtful of you to do for your brother though.

It’s best to plant in November time as too early and they might get tulip fire good luck xx

September to November, so now is fine.

Thanks everyone. I should have said, he’s in the south east if that makes any difference, didn’t want to plant too early and have them coming up when it’s very cold or before the hard frosts. Maybe I’ll wait till November.

It won't come up during the rest of the year, the bulb is dormant.
