When to plant daffodils?

Just wondering when everyone is planting theirs and where you are?

I keep seeing that they are to be planted in September but it feels too warm here. We're in the NW.

when it's reliably 15 or lower & ideally before frost.

Bought 10kg yesterday but leaving them in a dark corner of the garage for another couple of weeks until it is cooler.

I recall that last year I planted them much later (well into November) and had a magnificent display this Spring.
