Advice on Agapanthus

I made an impulse purchase of an Agapanthus plant which arrived today and I have potted. I believe it is the lily of the nile version. Have I made a mistake buying it now and should I take it in over winter?
There are no flowers on the plant, but some healthy long leaves
Thank you

A little bump for anyone who has any knowledge on these little beauties.

Do you know if it's a deciduous or evergreen one? The latter aren't fully hardy and need some protection. The deciduous type are supposed to be fullly hardy - I had a lovely big pot of them outside in Lancashire for several years. But then there was a winter with harder frosts a few years ago which killed it. (I've got some of its progeny from seed just starting to flower this year).

So...especially if it's in a smallish pot I'd be inclined to protect it from frost either way.

It says what to do with it in the key features section...I don't think it wants to come in as in, indoors but under glass if you've got a glasshouse or coldframe. Maybe putting somewhere sheltered and using fleece would do, idk, probably depends where you are and how the winter turns out as with so many plants!

@ErrolTheDragon I have a summer house so will try it in there if it gets too severe this winter

I'd be tempted by that too, I’d like to replace the one I lost but the ones I’ve seen on sale have been expensive for something I fear might not survive!

All I know about agapanthus is they love being potbound, hate being moved, and can’t cope with being drowned. I’ve had 3 in a pot since forever, and while they didn’t flower last year, they did this year 🤷🏼‍♀️ The ones in my garden just trundle on beautifully.
