Please can anybody tell me what this is? Asking for a friend who has just started working in this garden so hasn't seen it in flower.

Have you got anything for scale? Could be bluebells if small but very hard to tell from that photo.

NanTheWiser · 03/09/2024 21:04

Won’t be bluebells, they are long gone. Possibly Hemerocallis? Day lilies? Difficult to tell from the photo.

napody · 03/09/2024 21:08

My guesses are day lily or some kind of iris but they really are guesses. They might have to wait until it flowers next.

A sideways pic would be slightly more helpful than a top down one, if it showed an indication of height.

Nerine bowdenii

speak2me · 03/09/2024 22:49

Looks like my Nerines at the moment too!

nickatiara · 04/09/2024 13:13

Oh thank you. I was thinking it can't be anything spring flowering as the foliage would normally have died down by now. And summer flowering you'd see the faded flowers, unless it isn't flowering as overcrowded. Here's another photo.

If you bruise the leaves and sniff and it smells of onions then it is the three cornered leek.

nickatiara · 04/09/2024 21:48

They're also long gone surely

No, no signs of that yet!
