What colour should I paint my shed?

I am getting two wooden sheds and one metal shed that people are throwing away. I want one of them to be 'my quiet space' with a bench infront to just drink tea and look at my veggie patch (I am getting old!). I would like it to be fun and a bit of a focal point.

Should I paint both sheds the same colour/colours or should I keep the real shed the plain boring brown.

Suggestions please?

needs sunflowers growing up side of it too

Have felt roof though, so it may not have the same effect. DOnt think I can paint that, can I?

Probably not...you could cover it over with willow fencing, maybe?

Cut to size and laid flat

or would that look odd?

do you mean to paint the willow fencing white then? I think that would look odd either way and probably best to leave it as felt.

This thread puts paid to the notion that it is men who are shed obsessed...I can think of nothing nicer than a little hidey hole at the end of my garden, radio on, comfy chair, cuppa, and a trashy mag, watching the sun go down.

Yes, you're right.

I'm sure it will be lovely when it's all finished.

Have painted our fences a cream. They've weathered brilliantly and garden looks fab. Could work well on a shed too?
Thoroughly reommend it!

or even reCommend

my shed and fences chocolate brown and green

A friend has just moved to a house where the fence and shed are painted cream and it looks really great. It wouldn't work in my garden, but I have recommended it to some other people too. It was weird as I would have thought that cream fence panels would have looked really awful, but I didn't really notice them for a while. The small, simple garden looks really bright a airy and it is really great...very calming and neat. My garden is not neat and I wouldn't get that same look.

Hi Mung

I think our garden with the cream looks very 'beach huttie' (We're not expert painters so that adds to the shabby charm!).

It absolutely brightens up a small / shady garden and it's not 'in your face' at all.

(believe me the last thing my garden is, is immaculate and it still works!).

Am very jealous of your shed retreat - ours if rammed with boxes and various bits of furniture we can't bring ourselves to get rid of!
