Do they grow huge?
Or they easily pruned.

Open to any other suggestions for a decorative plant that would suit this area.

What size are you thinking of, and do you mean shrubs or grown as standards?

The lose their leaves in winter so you will effectively just have bare branches and twigs there for part of the year.

What about a red Robin (Photonia) instead?
