I only have a little sprig of this plant in my garden and every year I expect it to get bigger but it doesn't. Sadly the window cleaner has now stood on it! Can anyone identify it please so I can see if I can propagate it from this little bit and how to treat it more nicely in future. 😊

It’s a sedum.

CoffeandTiaMaria · 27/07/2024 18:24

Yes, sedum.

Justsewsew · 27/07/2024 18:24

@BananaLamah I thought it might be but it just doesn't get any bigger or better unlike the green one I have. I also couldn't remember the word sedum to be able to look it up so thank you!

It looks like a sedum called Hylotelephium. I believe it’s classed as a type of stonecrop, so it’s only small.

If you're trying to root that piece, cut most of the top part off, to just above the first set of leaves.

Is it planted in full sun? They like sun.

Justsewsew · 27/07/2024 19:15

@LuluBlakey1 I like giving mumsnet the thrill of identifying them though 😀

I've got the red one and it's tiny compared to the green ones. That's given me a thought and may move to the sunny front

It looks like a sedum.
