Hydrangea flowering for the first time in 6 years

I have lovely hydrangeas out the back which I've had for many years but about 6 years ago I planted one out the front.
It was in flower when I planted it but never flowered again, I kept it because it was a nice bit of green.
This year it's surprised me with pink flowers, how do I keep it happy so it flowers again in the coming years?
It's in a trough because we've only stones out the front.

The only thing I ever do is water mine a lot. I love hydrangeas

Mine's flowered for the first time this year too - I think it's because of the very wet weather, which is what they like apparently.

Mine is doing well too.

They like lots of water so keep watering if it stays dry.

They also flower on last year's growth so if you prune it back you may lose next year's flowers.

I tend to leave mine until it's much too big and then cut it back lots. It means the next year won't be great but it should be good again for a year or 2 after that.
