Recommend me a cordless lawnmower?

We have a medium sized garden, our mower broke and it's currently looking like a meadow.

I'd ideally like a cordless one as I think it will be easier to nip out and keep on top of it?

I am so unexcited by how much money I will have to spend on something so dull! But ultimately would rather spend once on a good one than keep buying cheap shite.

So - any ideas?

I love mine, it’s a Bosch one. I wish I’d splashed out on a spare battery though! Annoyingly I seem to get one and a half mows out of each charge! But I find it so much easier than a corded one.

I've had an Einhell one for a few years now and it's still going strong, think it only cost just over £100. It does a good job and I like how light it is.

If you need other cordless tools as well it may be worth looking at Black and Decker. We bought a strimmer and a hedge trimmer which have the same type of battery, so can swap over the batteries if one runs out. I assume they do a lawn mower. I think other makes have interchangeable batteries too.

I have this one https://www.cleva-uk.com/products/lawnmaster-24v-lawnmower this will be my 4th summer of using it and haven't needed to use the spare battery yet, I have a medium size back lawn and used to have a smallish front lawn (which has now gone) but used to be able to do them both on one charge. The battery is also compatible with other items in their range. Would never go back to a corded one, it's so much easier than having to drag extension cables etc out.

get a STIHL mower, you can use the battery in other gardening tools.

I’m interested to read the replies to this. My brother has just gone back to a corded lawnmower as his (quite expensive) Bosch cordless kept running out of battery power and then gave up the ghost altogether after just 18 months. I’d love a cordless ones for the same reasons as you but don’t want to blow hundreds on something crap! My cheapo Qualcast corded has been going years.

We bought the cheap as chips Challenge one from Argos 3 years ago and are still very happy with it. Our lawn is about 20m x 30m and it has enough charge to do that .

Great! Thank you. We've gone with a worx one but not arrived yet. I think lots do this battery swap thing which is handy. They all seem much of a muchness so hopefully we haven't made a terrible decision!

Best mower we've ever had is a pushalong. Just walk up and down and job done. Even on a pretty big garden you can have it done in the time it takes to find the bloody battery of a cordless one

BustingBaoBun · 23/07/2024 18:35

The battery is either in the charger or slotted in, in 10 seconds! It's never missing. And it will last up to 2 mows. I couldn't possibly mow our big garden with a push along.
