Just rescued from neighbour, pruned and watered. But these black bits worry me. Any thoughts, o bringers of life?

Hello Supersimkin7,

Theres nothing you can do about the wilted stem tips. Just take a pair of secateurs and remove all the affected foliage back to the healthiest growth to just above a leaf.

I notice you bay also has slight damage to the leaves as a result of bay sucker however most bay trees suffer from it at this time of the year but it does not do any real harm.

Bay sucker can cause discolouration and distortion of leaves at the shoot tips of bay laurel.

Is that indoors or out? It will be happier out of doors.

It looks as if it has been badly dehydrated.

I don't think the damage to leaves looks bad enough to worry about - the damage to the leaves that are still OK, not the wilted ones at shoot tip which are unlikely to recover.

Thank you sooooooo much - you’ve my day.

I am massively proud of this rescue and will obey to the letter. I have bug and fungus sprayed it and trimmed and given it 2 jugs water.

I carried it home through local streets after fainting at the doc, very smug here.
