Neighbours bamboo

My neighbour has bamboo in his garden, he doesn't do anything to his garden so the bamboo & most other bushes are now growing over & into my hedge. I have been poisoning any bamboo shoots I find on my side with glyphosate which kills the shoots & the stem goes brown.
I now have 3 shoots of bamboo coming up next to my house, I've covered them in poison & will remove them & the roots when dead but I feel like I'm fighting a loosing battle.

I can't dig a channel down the length of our boundary due to the roots of an 80ft tree he has in the garden.

What else can I do to stop the bloody bamboo? I have asked him to cut back his overgrown garden but he won't do anything.

can you extend any lawn up to the boundary, then every-time you cut it you'll be removing the bamboo?

Man bamboo is properly invasive. Have you seen what running bamboo does to houses? Proper forceful stuff. Not sure what type you've got.

I don't think there's much you can do about it, other than keep at it on your side.

We had a similar issue but only solved it with a root barrier. Mowing it with the grass won't work. The stems grow sharp like spears and are so strong the mower just folds them over.

I believe the neighbour is technically liable for your costs but I imagine it would be a difficult process to go through.

I hope you aren't this posters neighbour 😱

However, she has had good advice, including a link about the law which you might find useful.

Oooo I hadn't seen that post, thanks @LittleGreenDragons I'll have a look at the links. Wish I was this woman's neighbour, I'd go help her dig it up!
