Lupin seeds

Complete amateur here. I've sown lupins for the first time on a building site that will, I hope, eventually be an actual garden -- and some of the flowers have gone to seed. Can I save these? Do I dry them? Take the individual seeds out of the 'pods'? How do I store them before I can plant them for next year?

Thank you!

I'd like to know this too 😊
My one single lupin that came up was attacked by slugs but not before it had produced a couple of blooms which have gone to seed. I'd love to help it come back next year.

My soil is so dreadful, and my gardening instincts so underdeveloped, the fact that the lupins grew in profusion and fairly straightforwardly feels like a miracle!

I just collect the seeds and put them in an envelope until the next year.

Perhaps you've been lucky and the slugs haven't found your new garden yet!
I was really hoping that any plants that survived the slugfest in mine would miraculously self-seed. But that is no doubt too good to be expected.

I'll pop the pods in an envelope then and keep my fingers crossed. Presumably as the pods dry out they will open and just spill the seeds.
My neighbour told me that stored seeds should be soaked before being sown. So I'll try that too with some of them,

I didn't bother soaking mine, but this year I put them in pots, and they are looking ok.
