Sweet peas not flowering

What can be wrong with my sweet peas this year?
The ones I grew from seed are looking nice and healthy but no flowers, the ones I had as plug plants are very small with the occasional flower.
Is anyone else having this problem? I sowed loads this year as they did so well last year.

Mine are just the same, also grown from seed. I'm hoping some sunshine will do the trick.

Probably lack of sunshine. Mine took forever to start but are flowering well now - they’re on a S facing terrace

Thank you, fingers crossed the sun will eventually appear!

Mine have been in bloom for about 10 days. Cheshire UK. They like lots of water so think the last few days of rain will give them an extra boost.

I did mine from seed and planted into 3 large pots this year so they weren't overcrowded .
They like a deep pot and they;re greedy for water .

Mine are mixed but the one that is flowering most is a dark purple .
They don;'t smell as much as last years . I am dead heading them so not collecting seeds till the end of their season.

This year they're a bit rubbish Sad

Mine are also rubbish this year. Loads of leaves and growing well but only just started flowering this week. There's 3 flowers in total whereas last year I had hundreds by this point.

I'm glad I didn't bother with any this year, I'm sure it's mainly the weather.

They do like a well prepared spot with lots of rich soil, so you could try a good feed.

scrivette · 13/07/2024 00:51

They have definitely got bigger the last few days with all the rain. I will try a feed too.

Try feeding them with Tomorite or liquid seaweed?

Tumbleweed101 · 14/07/2024 13:21

Mine have just started flowering. I have the perpetual ones that come back each year and they aren't as colourful as usual yet.

OrlandointheWilderness · 14/07/2024 13:46

Mine are just the same, really healthy and growing well not no flowers!

ErrolTheDragon · 15/07/2024 12:23

I got back from a fortnights holiday to find dozens of pods on the ones I planted earliest, so they may go over sooner than I'd have hoped, but some of the others are in bloom and 2 pots haven't begun to flower yet.

I’m having the same issue with geraniums and my tomatoes are a bit crap
