Why do these indoor plants always do this?

I bought this plant (plantation palm?) a few days ago and it looked lovely and healthy

It doesn't need watering and isn't in a spot that's too hot but has already started splaying out

These plants always do this for me and I'm not sure where I'm going wrong!

It's in quite a light and warm room already

Needs more moisture try spraying it not just watering it

I think it needs moving away from the doors. I'd give it a good spray with water and some baby bio to perk it up.
