Catchup on plants (supermarket?)

Hi
For family reasons I've not got round to putting some border plants in nor in a couple of shaded planters. Can I ask AS ITS NOW JULY what are still ok and possibly available outside any of the supermarkets you've seen?. Once sourced I can plant and get back to family issues but knowing there's something to see outside in coming few months etc. Thanks so much ..

I was at Homebase last week and they had loads of plants reduced. The lady said they get sent so much they can’t sell them all in time so there are frequent reductions. Some great big plants reduced from. £30+ down to £3 and loads of good sized plants for just a couple of pounds. Worth a look if there’s one near you.

Morrisons had quite a few stacked outside the store today, a lot were geraniums but also had some other summer bedding plus single pots of fuschia and climbing plants.

I bought a red Lobelia which was inside the store but badly needed watering.

I also went to Waitrose but was annoyed to see that the plants outside which were priced at £12 a pot were mainly drooping from lack of water. 😡

Morrisons, Sainsburys, Waitrose, and our B&M all still have loads. They will be starting to stock the late-summer/autumn plants soon too, so there is always something to plant.

Whereabouts are you?

The nursery where I work still has a ton of bedding - we are well aware it's been a funny old year, and many people are buying later than usual. For that matter we have also carried on sowing veg later than usual, for the same reasons. You might find your local nursery is similar?
