Foxes making a mess in my garden...

This topic has probably come up many times before....

I woke up, went in my back garden and saw that foxes had left poo in one flower bed, chewed and threw around a seedling plastic tray, dug up a hole near one of my apple trees and left paw prints all over my garden furniture.

I have seen foxes many times in the garden, even during the day, and I love animals so I don't mind them being around and I would never wish them harm but the destruction is really annoying...

Any tips on trying to contain the furry menaces/protect the plants?

I don't leave food outside (although I have pets) so there is no major reason for them to squat in my garden all the time :).

I love the idea of having a wildlife camera! I wonder what other creatures come into the garden at night and drink in the pond.

Some of my cats' toys are in the garden and the foxes do play with them!

I met yet another fox yesterday, who was having a stroll, when I walked back home in the evening.

There seems to have been a noticeable increase in the fox population in our area these last few years. We’ve always had them, but now they regularly come inside houses on our road, whenever a door is left open, even climbing up into second floor flats. I had one come in my kitchen and it was hard to get rid of, they are just not scared of humans at all.

Once my neighbour got rid of the den in his garden, the fouling in mine stopped. Having a dog also does make a difference I think.

Sadly lots of people feed them. One of my neighbours showed me a video of the fox she’s tamed 🤨 taking a snooze on her sofa <shudder>.

My elderly next door neighbour told me she loves foxes and leaves food for them sometimes at the end of the garden.

Which probably explained why they have made themselves so comfortable .

I like foxes too but the mess they make is impressive :).
