Can anyone help me with what’s wrong with my hydrangea? It’s only been in the ground about 6 weeks and was a 9cm pot

Keep watering and look for new growth.

recently planted several hydrangeas and they all took a bit of a turn initially. The pre-existing foliage still looks a bit ropey, but new foliage coming through now a couple weeks later.

Thanks @Labraradabrador I bought 6 plants in a deal from J Parker’s. One died the minute I put it in the ground, 3 are doing well and 2 look like this. At least they were a bargain I guess

They are very thirsty, so water a lot. Mine often look a bit sad before establishing.

I had to dig up a hydrangea as it was getting to much sun, it looked like it had died.
I read about using banana peel water, chop the peel put in an air tight jar fill up with water leave for a week then pour the water at the base of the plant.
This has really perked up the plant and it's looking super healthy now. I also gave it plenty of water while waiting for the banana water.

As someone who has managed to kill two hydrangeas already and is currently nursing a very sad little sprout at the moment I am no use at all.
I'm going to try the banana peel water though.
