Any other alternative to a compost bin?

Ok, our compost bin has a huge split either side of it and I have decided to buy a new on however they are so expensive! Is there anything else I could use instead of a compost bin? A dustbin? wouldn't really work I guess!

we use a plastic dustbin and dp cut a hole in the bottom to get the compost out.

a dustbin could work if you cut the bottom out with a saw.

have you tried you local council - they sell them at reduced prices.

also have ashufty here

you need to cut the bottom out for the worms to get in!

Whereabouts are you. My council does a subsidised compost bin 330 litre for a tenner.

In my area the bins are £20 from the council.

So I would need to cut out a hole in the bottom, I could do that but how about getting the compost out? The compost bins have little flap doors to open them. Maybe it's easier to buy one!

you just pick the whole thing up and lift it off. Take out all the compost, put the bin back and add anything thats not quite ready and start again.
