Show me your borders please!

Trying to decide how to arrange plants into my sunny borders. If you’ve got photos, please share! Needing tips for spacing as well as the mix of shrubs vs perennials vs annuals.

It really depends what sort of look you want. Mine are a mess so I won't scare you with a pictures! What sort of style of garden do you like, cottage or more structured and modern?

How big and deep are the borders? If you've got borders a foot deep photos of 10 foot deep borders won't be very useful to you.

Rectangular, 2m by 90cm. I’ve bought some salvias, alliums and a dianthum to start with but will be looking for a small shrub too.

My south facing borders are a riot of plants and colour. The north ones are more restrained with lots of greenery. I can post pictures.

It is Nepeta (catmint). It's a bit of a thug and grows madly but it can be cut back easily and it just keeps coming. Bees love it and I am obsessed with bees!
