Slugs demolishing onions!

I could cry!! Lovely strong onions have been attacked by the slug army - had no idea they liked the stuff.

Hadn’t been to the plot for a while due to the rain and when I did there were dozens of the slimy buggers in that bed and on the leaves.

I feel your pain as the buggers have scoffed mine and all the coriander.<grrr> However they did leave the red onions and leeks. Probably looking up a recipe for those!

So disappointing. Sorry I have no advice as I have lost the battle with my massive hosta this year.

OMG, the ones in my area have found the recipe!
Have been on a massive slug hunt and set beer traps now.
I will not be defeated!!!

They have eaten my potato leaves, I've never had that before. It's so wet OTs just off the scale.

The RHS might want us to make friends with them, but it's war!

I go out at night with a torch like a madwoman! It's too much work to grow seedlings etc only to have them munched by slugs. I've read that beer traps simply attract them from far and wide so I'm not sure whether to use them any more... though I used to.

I think studies have shown that the beer/yeast does not result in any significantly greater number of slugs. It just traps those that are around.

They’ve demolished my sugar snap peas. Too scared tooting my cucumber or lettuce now.

Ooo really might have it a try. Has anybody had success with egg shells?
