Slugs!

Damned things, they've decimated lots of seedlings I'm hardening off. They were doing so well too (the plants not the slugs!)

They've eaten just about all my sunflower, cosmos and zinnia seedlings and had a good nibble at various salad leaves and even had a chomp on my precious aubergine plant. Most of these have been potted on recently and were thriving too, so it's very annoying!

Thankfully they haven't touched the tomato plants, courgettes or nasturiums (yet!)

I suppose there is still time to replant so I'd better make a start.

Nematodes.
I tried absolutely everything but the nematode treatment really works to keep them under control in a child and pet friendly way.

I feel your pain. I have been carefully growing some sunflowers that seem to be like crack for the (many, seemingly ravenous) snails in our area. We’re away this weekend and I’m nervous about going home tomorrow night and surveying the damage!

The slugs and snails decimated my courgettes, sunflowers, cosimos, petunias. In fact I wonder what they haven’t eaten!!

Can you use organic slug pellets or are they still bad?

They're dreadful this year

They are terrible this year and eating everything. I think I'd better hang my hanging baskets (planted with surfinias mainly) pretty soon too. Hopefully, the slugs won't scale the fences to reach them!

I do have some organic wool slug pellets come to think about it. I haven't used them before and was planning to spread them around when I plant the veggies out but it looks like I've left it a bit late.

Oh for some dry weather!
