Complete amateur here! I have 6 sweet pea plugs and a 6ft cage (see photo!). Now they are in front of me I'm thinking I need many more plugs! What do you think?

Probs at least two per support column and plant them on the inside says Monty Don as they get more water when you water them as it all puddles together as it were. They are so wonderful though.

If the plugs just have one main stem each, pinch out the top and wait. They will then produce more side shoots so that each one plant has 3-4 flowering stems.

They grow like mad in the right spot so I wouldn't worry too much about filling that obelisk with the six you have. So long as they have been pinched to produce a few stems each.
