How to fill this flower bed!

Feeling a bit overwhelmed with choices planting up this bed that we have just cleared - any ideas? The bed gets pretty much full sun all summer then is in the shade of the house between November and March. The soil is free draining I think but not sure about acidity.
We might want something to climb across the trellis for privacy or we might replace the trellis with a more solid screen instead of waiting for a plant to grow across. I'm thinking maybe a narrow tall shrub on the right hand side as our neighbours have tall shrubs the other side of the fence. I've been given a deep red peony which I think I'll put in there somewhere. Other than that I don't really know what to do!

Roses or compact paniculata hydrangeas like Little Limelight, with geraniums like Rozanne planted underneath. You could also try some lavender grown underneath. Jasmine or clematis up the trellis.

The hydrangeas would give more winter interest as the flowers dry down beautifully.

Lavender is lovely

Thank you both. I have taken some lavender cuttings from a woody plant we have so hopefully one or two of those will work! Will look into the hydrangeas you mentioned and jasmine/clematis!
