Willowherb I think. Spreads like crazy.

Perennial lobelia? (not the little bedding plant type)

Sunshineandrainbow · 18/05/2024 13:55

Looks like some weeds I have. Pulls out easily

No, it’s not a willowherb, leaves aren’t smooth enough for the small species or hairy enough for Great Willowherb. Veronica spicata I think

I was going to say Willow herb which is so prolific where I am (Midlands) - but seem corrected!
Where abouts are you roughly,?

Could it be a foxglove? They seem to have self seeded everywhere near me this year and it looks like the right sort of slightly serrated leaves on a tall stem. Obviously can’t tell scale from your picture.

Looks like Himalayan balsalm to me. Invasive, needs removing before it seeds everywhere in June.

No, leaves too narrow. Not Himalayan Balsam either, leaves too narrow and veins are different.

Looking again, it might be Great Willowherb, in which case it’s worth leaving for the flowers as long as you don’t let it seed.

Thanks all. I think willow herb, they always look so pretty on the river bank. I might let it flower and pull it up before it sets seed as suggested
