There are tons on Google Play, has anyone got a recommendation? Don't mind paying a bit. TIA.

I use Leafsnap, although Google Lens works equally as well!

None of them should be relied on. They give good suggestions for a starting point, but you should never accept an answer without further research.

Just recently we’ve had a tree seedling “identified” as mint, and Purple Toadflax “identified” as rosemary.

Oh, and if you hear someone ask a knowledgeable gardener what a plant is, don’t jump in and say “my app says it’s a…” - you’re not helping, and it’s a bit rude.

I like PlantNet- it gives you a % of how confident it is with each suggestion so you can tell if it's not really sure.

Flora Incognita is my fave

The problem is - it can be completely sure and still be wrong.

I use Plant Net too.

Although I'm still of the opinion that this board in general and one or two posters in particular are the most reliable means of plant identification, I thought it might be an idea to try an app for when we're out and about. I've just downloaded Flora Incognita and tried if on a couple of photos taken on Saturday and today of wild flowers I couldn't put a name to.
I think it's got them right, pink purslane and hounds tongue
