I'm so excited about my hydrangea!

Bloody thing! It's huge (relative to the size of my cottage garden), very green and leafy and depends on me for its welfare.
The year after I bought it there were zero flowers. I gave it some love and a stern talking to and the following year it had a few blooms, but still disappointing. It was on its final warning last year and it pulled out all the stops to give it another year.
I've had a good look over the last few days and there are loads and loads of teeny, tiny blooms.
I can't wait!

It was the stern talking to that did it!

Can you come and give mine a stern talking to please? I've had it about 5 years, it's barely grown from when I planted it and no sign of any flowers.

They do love being wet! So this winter is a dream scenario for them.

I had two in the back bit of my garden, we live in France and they wer ethere when we got here. When they bloomed the colour was so bright blue.

I then worked out that my soil was Acid and that's why I had trouble with onions.

We moved them and last year, nada. But this year they were indeed filled with potential flowers. And then they all got frosted.

But they are growing back so hopefully, blue flowers will be back soon.

I’m excited to see ours are also covered in tiny blooms. Against advice, I pruned them last year, so the only flowers we got were underneath all the new growth.

Give it a good feed with a liquid fertiliser round the roots. Then keep watering ( if it ever stops raining, that is)

Here it it at the moment. I'm so happy.
It was blue when I bought it, but the flowers since have always been pink.
I wonder what these will be. It's planted in ericaceous compost (though whatever it is that makes it ericaceous has probably long since leached out) and I've fed it with ericaceous food.

I'm so excited about my hydrangea!

Looking good. The blooms aren't huge like some you see, but there are lots of them.
