Does anyone know what this could be please

It's a new pear shrub I've just planted it in a pot. One of those column trees and it came like this.
From what I've managed to find out it could be fireblight? It's just a stick at the minute not even a tree so if it's serious I'll just throw it away.

Could be Frost damage? I would leave it for a couple of months and see if it recovers before you bin it.

Where did you get it from? I'd send a photo to the company and ask what it is/ for a replacement.

Thanks for the replies. I got it from eBay, it was in a pack of three the others seem ok (apple and cherry)
It looks like some has completely died further down and looking at it the bark looks like it's turning yellow at the top but I'll wait it out and see how it gets on.
