What to do with daffodils now?

I have a number of daffodils that have finished flowering. The flower stems and leaves are still there but starting to look a bit droopy. Should I cut them back and if so, how far do I cut? I want them to return next year!

Just take the dead flower heads off and leave them.

Monty says to leave them alone as the nutrients will then go back to the bulb making it stronger for next year. I always leave mine but I always itch to fold them down or cut them off.

Spray them with fertiliser , preferably Phosrogen but other dilute liquids will do. This builds them up to flower and increase, take the heads off( or they will put their energy into seeding, very slow and not true to type). Cut the foliage back as late as you can, at least wait until it is wilting.

Last night Monty said if they’re in a tub then deadhead them to make the bulbs stringer but if they’re naturalised in grass then don’t deadhead them because you want them to go to seed and multiply
