Iris bulbs - planting time

I bought these Dutch iris bulbs in b&q (I know I know I only went in for compost)

it says in the packaging plant March to May - grand. But everywhere I look it says autumn planting, December at the latest. Do I shove them in and hope for the best??

😂Fair point. Does anyone know if they are labelled incorrectly l? Has anyone successfully planted iris bulbs in spring?
