Somebody on here (I forget who, sorry) posted about this last year, which we found quite useful, and I can't see a thread for this year so I'm paying it forward.

The May edition of Gardeners' World magazine (out now) contains an insert which gives you 2-4-1 i.e. two adult entry tickets for the price of one. It's a simple physical card (no apps or anything) that lasts for a year, to 02.04.25, with unlimited usage. They say that it covers 'over 400' gardens but a fair few are National Trust or English Heritage so if you are a member of those then you wouldn't be paying anyway. However, you'd only have to visit a few of the other gardens to get back your cover price of £9.50 quite quickly.

Thanks for the heads up, I have been looking on magazine racks waiting for it to come out. If you go to Kew Gardens you get the investment back in one fell swoop. Although you do then spend it in the cafe ………….

Ah ha! Guess the name of "somebody on here (I forget who, sorry)".Wink
Thanks, viques.Grin

It quite probably was me, I try to tell lots of people about it. 🌷

I'm a subscriber, so got that recently, unfortunately there aren't too many around where I live and some are only open on certain weekdays so I'm afraid mine got recycled.

Thank you for this! I’ve just been and bought a copy as there are a few close to us.

viques · 21/04/2024 10:14

Apologies and a heads up! Have just checked the brochure and it looks as through Kew Gardens isn’t taking part this year. Annoying, it was one of the days out I always enjoyed with the 2 for 1.

CadyEastman · 22/04/2024 21:32

Thank you.

It's that time of year again. I've just got the magazine from my local Tesco; it's £9.99 this year.
They are still doing a physical card but there is also the option of an App.

I was aware of the offer. Have used it before. Can anyone tell me if it offers any discount for people by themselves?
Thanks

senua · 11/04/2025 17:51

I think that the offer is down to the individual garden. However, a quick flip through the booklet shows lots of places (but not all) offer half-price for singles.
There's a list on the GW website but it's behind a paywall.

Can you tell me if Kew Gardens is back this year, they weren’t last year 😟and they were the main reason I bought the 241. Thanks,

I can't see it. Not under K for Kew nor R for Royal Botanic. And I can't see it on the map, either; though I can see Ham House and Syon Park.

However, Wakehurst, at Haywards Heath, is in at £18.50 for the pair, £9.25 for singles.

I got it this month but there’s not much within 50 miles of where we are so won’t use it!

Thanks for checking for me,looks as though they have decided to come out of the scheme. Shame, but I do have a friend who is a member at Kew so will hopefully get in with her one day. Will buy tea and cake to say thanks!

Hi, this is such a long shot but I didn’t manage to find the may edition. If you still had the code and aren’t using it, you wouldn’t be able to share the code with me? We’re heading to one of the gardens on Sunday and 2 for 1 would be a massive help. No pressure! Thanks

senua · 20/03/2026 22:38

It's (nearly) that time of year again.
GW issue their 2-4-1 card with the May issue of the magazine. I was panicking a bit because the current card is only valid to 2nd April 2026 and I thought that there would be a gap before the new card came out - that gap would include the Easter weekend. I asked today when the May edition goes on sale and the answer is ... 2nd April.
Phew!

Can you check in the leaflet and see if Kew Gardens is back please. I doubt if they are but there is always a chance they have relented. Thanks Flowers

This was meant to be pinging @senua .

And now I have read your post properly and seen the May edition isn’t out yet. 🤔

senua · 02/04/2026 13:31

Look what I've got.

Cryptic message for @viques MNOP RSTU.
Sorry.
