Munched seedlings

Sigh... it would appear something has eaten all my cauliflower seedlings .. First few leaves, only stalks remaining...

Is that it over, or any chance of new leaves appearing? ( new to this. Don't want to give up too soon 😆)

Isn't it frustrating - this is happening to me too. (In my case to sunflowers and a chili pepper plant which was decimated on its first night !)
have you been out at night to check for slugs? I have been picking them off and also strengthening all slug defences. I've found a cardboard box on grass near our greenhouse seems to attract them and give me somewhere to find the blighters during the day .
i move them to the other end of our garden and wonder if they just come back !!

also trying finely broken egg shells round my plants

Ps I hate to say it but if they've eaten the leaves I don't think they'll come up again but I'm not sure .
pigeons do like seedlings too so worth being sure what it is , if it's birds you might need fine netting over them

Unlikely, if you've only got stalks remaining. You would need to have either an intact leaf axil (where the (eaten) leaf joined the stem) in order for an axillary bud to grow into a new shoot, or an intact terminal bud. Even so, a seedling probably wouldn't have the energy to put out new shoots.

Sounds like snails, could be pigeons.

So - start again. Under cover, if possible.

Greenhouse... snails...happily muchjng away having seemingly glided over the egg shells with ease 🙄

I've a few seeds left, I'll try again.
Inside 🤣
Hot competition for windowsill space, you see....

I'll try the cardboard box near the greenhouse idea too, thank you
