Hi everyone, I have NC'd so I can include pics.

We got the keys about a week ago and I have no idea what do to with it. I had planned to bring plants from my old garden but moving weekend didn't go as planned and I ran out of time. I'm gutted.

Garden is NW facing and is a bit of on L shape due to the conservatory.

All I've done so far is cut the grass and planted some anemone bulbs in a planter.

Boarders need sorting out. Am I supposed to leave the garden for a year to see what pops up? Or can I can I start pulling the weeds up now?

I'm a novice, I love gardening but don't know enough. I'm going to buy a beginners book to learn the basics. Thought I would pop on here and see what you all think? Where do I start?

Many thanks

Am I supposed to leave the garden for a year to see what pops up? Or can I can I start pulling the weeds up now? You can pull up weeds, and would be sensible to do so. The guidance to leave for a year means don’t uproot everything and rotavate the soil, or plant lots of new big stuff. See what you’ve git first.

my advice would be to only pull up weeds you have identified - even if only to ‘that green green leaved clumping thing with tiny pink flowers too pale and insipid to be bothered with”.

Ok, thank you. It definitely needs a big tidy up.
