What to do with this area ?

What would you put in this gravel area ? My Dh put the stones over it to stop the hog weed coming through. It looks mounded up in the picture but it’s really flat. I thought it looks like a bus stop 😂. Bearing in mind the hedge behind it would need trimming every year. My DH is very hands on, so good at making things. I thought of a wishing well, but does anyone else have any ideas ? Anything you can think of would be appreciated. TIA, I’ll be back on here later today.

I rather like the idea of a wishing well. How about some statuary as well? You could build up a little collection that you change through the year: Benjamin Bunny in spring, a Nativity at Christmas, solar-powered water features in the summer, etc. A bird bath, too, and maybe a feeder hanging from a freestanding pole.

Is it a nice area for some seating? A curved wooden bench, or a small, round, metal table with a chair or two?

A small crescent stone seat? With maybe some hardy geraniums or lavender at the back and sides.

Aparecium Love the idea of themes throughout the year, but nobody would see them ! So could be effort for nothing. Solar powered water feature has also come to mind, some useful ideas, thanks.

fluffycloudalert it is indeed a sunny spot, which calls for a bench, and I might do that, but I want something more interesting and useful. If it was in a hot country I’d turn it into a bar area, but this is in a cold wet part of the country !

I'd go for a Bistro set, a bird bath and some herb planters?

YOU would see them.

We have a few small animal statues that regularly get lost in the undergrowth, or are repositioned by one of the family. I love knowing that the dragon is just behind the bamboo, or the surprise of finding the otter when I thought he was somewhere else entirely.
