Driving through northern Scotland and spotted these in lots of gardens.

Does anyone know what it is, please?

A Google search tells me that it should be happy in my front garden. Off to the garden centre tomorrow!

Check about the soil required- it needs acid soil

They are lovely! Different colours and variations have different hardi-ness too.

does anyone know which app will let me photo a plant and identify it?

Lidl have them at the moment. Decent size and only £11.99

On my iPhone I just slide the photo up and it has a plant identification.

It doesn’t necessarily give the id of the plant you have.

Ericaceous compost for acid loving plants is necessary, otherwise the plant will have yellow/brown leaves.

Purchased a camellia today, along with ericaceous compost. Weather is brutal here at the moment so likely Monday until I can plant her.
