Hello,

can I keep a hyacinthe bulb until next year? If I cut off the flowers and leaves?

And what do I do with daffodil bulbs - when do I dig up the bulbs?

Thanks in advance

You need to let the flowers and leaves die back naturally and then you can replant the hyacinth bulb.

With daffodils, you do not dig them up but leave them in the ground. Let the leaves die back naturally as it helps the bulbs store up food for next year. I usually deadhead mine when they start lookng really scruffy, then when the foliage has all died back they get cut when we mow the grass.

Please? Someone must know if I can reuse a hyacinthe bulb; otherwise it's going in the recycling bin tonight!
