£600 garden gift

DH is turning 50 next month and some of his friends are kindly organising a joint gift. They have collected £600!

They've asked me for ideas. I subtly asked DH but there isn’t anything he really wants. He loves gardening and we are lucky enough to have a couple of acres so have room for a tree or something ornamental or to store something practical…

If you had £600, what would you choose? It would be good if it were something that was going to last and felt gifty- not eg £600’s worth of bedding plants 😄

Does he like roses? Could buy some high quality rose arches from somewhere like Harrod Horticultural and some roses from David Austin and make a rose garden.
Or some type of garden sculpture.

I was given a bench for my 50th. I was very happy!

A really spectacular grown tree of a variety that takes forever to get there. Like an olive, or a japanese maple.

Pizza oven?

Patio? Garden furniture? Garden pond? New bed with plants? Greenhouse? Robotic lawn mower?

You could get a beautiful mature tree for that budget, have you got a nice spot for one? I love a cherry tree or weeping willow ?

If you have a large garden you might like this. I just got one and it’s spectacular and really special. You’d need to put 100 to It, but worth it I’d say. It weighs about 30 stone but the men take it to where it needs to go.

I'd go with an Alexander Rose bench with cushions and a cover.
