Sowing grass seed on new topsoil

Done so much Googling but loads of conflicting information out there.

We have north facing garden which has just was filled with new topsoil in November. We are grassing it using seed. I'm hopeful we won't have to rotovate since the topsoil is new?

Does this look sensible:

  1. Rake level
  2. Use feet or weighted plank to firm until feet don't make footprints. Or would lawn roller work for this?
  3. Rake to make crumbly texture.
  4. Leave for 2 weeks.
  5. Sow seed 50g/m2.
  6. Rake gently and water.

I'm happy with how to look after it once growing but sowing seems to be something nobody agrees on! Any advice?

Yes don't sow until at least end of March imo. There is a man on YouTube called Daniel Hibbert who is a lawn care specialist - his videos are very informative.
