Self watering options

Hi!

I am a certified plant killer and need help with my new victims 😅

I did manage to keep a beautiful ZZ plant in a self watering pot, hence the title of this post.

I have recently got a rubber plant, a dragon plant and a couple others. They seem to be hardy plants, none of those fragile flower overly-sensitive kind 😆

I had the IKEA self watering pot but the white plastic look is not exactly what I'm looking for now.....

Have you tried those bulbous water things? Do you think that would help me? Any other EASY suggestions you might share? 🙂

My plants thank you very much!

Hummm I did some quick search and it seems those globes are not good 🫤 maybe the terracotta spikes?

I had some of the bulbous things in a house I rented, they worked OK I think.

I have used the ceramic spikes attached to a water source when I've been away for a couple of weeks in the summer, the plants all survived, but the reservoir is not exactly the most scenic of things.

You can easily make your own self watering pots by using any pot which you can drill a hole into and that doesn't have drainage holes at the base, I have made quite a few and they worked just fine.
