Taking cuttings from Rambling Rector rose now?

Total novice here. I have a lot of currently bare, sunny, east/south-east facing stone wall in my garden, and would like to cover it in climbing/rambling plants that smell good. Friends have a Rambling Rector rose I love — is now a bad time to try to take cuttings? The house is empty and is Sale Agreed, so I need to take them now or never! I’ve been trying to find RR plants online but am in Ireland and no one seems to have them in stock.

Am a complete ignoramus about roses (and gardening in general) so no idea other than the internet whether I’m just better off continuing to try to find a source for plants.

I never said thank you — thanks! I took cuttings yesterday in the knowledge that it’s a long shot, and will buy some to hedge my bets.
