What would look nice in pots

I am not knowledgeable about plants so would welcome some advice.
I have two nice looking pots that I would like to place either side of the front door with attractive plants in. I’m not into the ultra clipped lollipop trees that some use. To give an idea I quite like the look of hebes.
I would like as much flowering time as possible.
The front of the house gets a small amount of sun in the morning but is in shade most of the time. I will water them but would prefer something that isn’t too thirsty or in need of much care.
Any ideas very much appreciated.

How about

Begonias - small pink flowers.
Boxwood - if you want something a little hedgy
Coleus - purple leaf colours, very striking
Fern -
Fuchsia - lots of colours to pick from
Hellebore - soft pink colour
Hosta - watch out for snails
Hydrangea - maybe a dwarf variety, depending on how big the space is
Impatiens - pink flowers usually.

Obviously you don't have to have one plant, you could have a mix of plants.
