Galvanized pots

Hi all
I've found a local seller on FB who sells rustic garden bits and has a few galvanised tubs, quite tall. I'm doing dailies in pots this year so hoping to get my hands on these but with metal planters don't they heat up to much?! I've only had plastic and ceramic before. I've seen them used in so many gardens they look beautiful but just wondering if they overheat or if it's a different type of metal that doesn't do that

Thanks!

Roots can heat up in hot sun but you can minimise it by using the pots in shady areas, lining with newspaper and planting trailing plants around the edges of the pit that give protection from the sun.

Are they vintage galvanised containers or new vintage style ones? The genuine old ones tend to be much heavier gauge and don't suffer so much from overheating/drying out. If the metal is thin I'd do as MissRheingold suggests to protect them from the sun.
