Greenhouses and seedlings

I've got an unheated greenhouse and was wondering when people think it's OK to leave seedlings in a greenhouse overnight. I have ludicrous numbers of tomatoes, aubergines, sweet and chili peppers, cucumbers, tomatillos and basil all started in the heated propagator and now living on my windowsill. The furthest on are spending their day in the greenhouse and coming in at night.

When is it OK to leave them in without risk of them dying/slowing? I think I did it quite early last year but then spring was like summer....

The advice on the packet of my lovely seedlings says put them out during the day but bring back in house at night from April until the last frosts have finished. I think that's about mid May

My seedlings will be trees by that time as they are 2 cm now. It's definitely to do with frost at night and there is still frost about.

Thanks scattybird - I think we'll have to move out to make room for all the plants if we have to wait until mid-May!

I guess I could just keep an eye on the forecast and bring them in if frost is forecast.. (looks at forecast...so that'd be every night this week then!)

Hmm remind me to wait till mid-March next year!

All the things youv'e sown like warmer conditions, i'd keep them in a cool room in the house for a while yet. If your keeping them in the kitchen or somewhere too warm they may get too leggy and remain weak.

I'd certainly wait until this cold spell is over.

I have done exactly the same, grown things too early. I will keep them on the window sill though as they have grown beautifully.

I did it last year too late. We will be Percy Throwers next year right
