Does anyone know what this plant is?

I have recently acquired a fairly large, but completely undeveloped, garden, and would like to do something with it but am pretty clueless. Anyway, I recently walked past this plant, and it smelt lovely, so I'm wondering if I could grow it in my garden. Anyone able to tell me what it is, and give any tips on growing it? The photos were taken a week or two ago.

Sarcococca?

Definitely looks like sarcococca, and the smell fits. Weirdly this year mine doesn't seem to be smelling yet.

Thanks. I'll have a Google. The smell really is lovely - not overly 'flowery' but powerful enough that it was very noticeable in a busy road in a city centre. Think it would be a lovely thing to grow under my bedroom window.

Otherwise known as 'Sweet Box'.

First photo might be Daphne which is a great plant with a lovely scent. Second is definitely sarcococca

Definitely Sarcococca.

My sarcococca scent is late this year. It is usually flowering/scented by Christmas. It has a strong honey-like scent, not really flowery at all. Mine is a solid hedge along my front garden.

I've got one in a pot which I move to beside the front door when it's in flower. It's lovely catching a whiff of it as we come and go.
