Hard Pruning Cotoneaster Cornubia

I have a cotoneaster cornubia with multiple trunks like the one in the photo.
I would like to take it right down in size which would mean sawing all the top off and just leaving multiple trunks. Can you advise whether it would come back and shoot again from the trunks as we don’t want to lose the tree altogether. Thanks,

If you’re doing major pruning like that, spread it over 3 years, taking out a third of the trunks each year down to the level you want
