Planning to plant a fairly large NW facing bed. Gets sun in the mornings.
I need inspiration for shrubs and flowers that don't need too much attention please. Love prairie planting style.

do a proper search on the RHS plant finder website to find things that suit. I might look at Gauria and some grasses

also look at Beth Chatto dry garden.

A nice array of hostas will be attractive and low maintenance.

Except for the snails

I have a pond and don’t have snails - the hostas are nearby.

Is the bed sloping?

You’re lucky. I have a pond (4 in fact) and lots of frogs, but I still have snails

In my NW facing bed I have a japanese maple, hydrangea, some hostas, some japanese anemones, ferns and a bunch of heucheras. They all do fine apart from on the spot that the cat loves to sit on, where nothing grows.

I live in the countryside so perhaps it is down to the birds.
