Dog friendly winter interest

Hello, are there any flowers (apart from pansies and violas) that bloom in late autumn / winter and that aren’t poisonous to dogs? Struggling…

Bellis, lamium, cerastium, skimmia, heuchera, nerines, viburnum. You could also go for cornus (dogwood!) for bright-coloured stems.

Are clematis dog friendly? You can get a clematis which flowers in every month of the year.

Worth checking. They’re buttercup family, which has a lot of nasties in it.

Well that explains why they survive in my garden then! The lawn is basically just btluttercups with a tiny bit of grass.
