Aphids. I just run my fingers up the leaves and squash them off. They’re 80% water so not so yuk as it sounds.

or spray with water with just a dash of washing up liquid. They breathe through their skin, the washing up liquid acts as a wetting agent, makes sure there’s a layer of water over their skin, and they drown

or put your fingers over the soil so it doesn’t fall out, tip the plant up, and wash the aphids off under the tap.

They’re easy to kill, no need for noxious chemicals

You will have to repeat treatment several times as you won’t get all of the ones hiding in crevices.

Thanks will give the soap spray a try.

ugh I had just got rid of gnats as well. My plants are plagued - have had to throw so many out that just weren’t save-able!

Greenfly are a lot easier to get rid of than fungus gnats. And they’re not laying eggs in the soil.
