What on earth is this?

We had turf put down in our new build last year and it's taken well.

Recently we've had these weird things popping up. It's not poo but looks like it. It's almost growing up from the ground. We've got a fence all around and no animals that I know of getting in.

Anyone have any idea what they are? They're dotted all over the garden and popped up over a couple of days.

Thanks.

Wormcasts?

Ugh. Looks like hedgehog poo to me, but if there's no way for them to get into the garden, then maybe it is some sort of weird fungus or slime mould.

It's too firm for wormcasts I think.

It could be a weird mushroom I suppose.

Another vote for slime mould.
